BOTOX® Cosmetic
BOTOX® Cosmetic is one of the most well-known and widely used neuromodulators. It works by temporarily reducing muscle activity in targeted areas, helping to soften expression lines caused by repeated movements like frowning, squinting, and raising the eyebrows.
Results typically begin to appear within several days and continue to develop over the following two weeks. For many patients, results last approximately three to four months, although this can vary from person to person. BOTOX® is a great option for patients looking for a trusted, established treatment with natural-looking results.
XEOMIN®
XEOMIN® is a neuromodulator that works similarly to BOTOX® by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles to soften the appearance of expression lines and wrinkles.
What makes XEOMIN® unique is its purified formulation. It contains the active botulinum toxin type A without additional accessory proteins, which is why you may hear it referred to as a “naked” neurotoxin. Results generally develop within the first week following treatment and can last approximately three to four months, depending on the individual.
DAXXIFY®
DAXXIFY® is a newer, peptide-powered neuromodulator designed to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines. Like other neuromodulators, it works by temporarily reducing the muscle activity responsible for creating expression lines.
What sets DAXXIFY® apart is its unique peptide-based formulation and its potential for longer-lasting results. In clinical studies, some patients experienced results lasting around six months or longer. This can make DAXXIFY® an appealing option for patients who are interested in potentially extending the time between treatments.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT
Results
BOTOX®, XEOMIN®, and DAXXIFY® work by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles to soften the appearance of expression lines and wrinkles. Results develop gradually after treatment, with timing and duration varying depending on the product, treatment area, and individual. BOTOX® and XEOMIN® typically last around 3–4 months, while DAXXIFY® may provide longer-lasting results for some patients.
Minimal Discomfort
Neuromodulator treatments involve a series of small injections. Most patients describe the sensation as a quick pinch, and any discomfort is typically brief.

Precautions
Temporary side effects may include redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, or discomfort at the injection sites. Headache and other side effects may also occur. Although uncommon, botulinum toxin products carry the risk of serious side effects, including problems with swallowing, speaking, or breathing. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience these symptoms.
Be sure to tell your injector about your medical history, medications, allergies, previous neuromodulator treatments, and whether you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Your provider will determine whether treatment with BOTOX®, XEOMIN®, or DAXXIFY® is appropriate for you.
